Post practice round with Tiger Woods and defending PGA Championship champion Justin Thomas, I caught up with two-time U.S. Open winner, Brooks Koepka.
Koepka, more middle linebacker than golfer is a solid 6’0”, 186 pounds. We chat at Bellerive Country Club about guilty pleasures, best friends on Tour and life outside of golf.
KK: How are you finding St. Louis as the host for this Major?
Brooks Koepka: It’s good. I mean obviously I’m in a house, have a chef, so not really going out to eat. Not
doing anything. Mainly just the golf course and the house.
KK: Do you watch golf yourself?
Brooks Koepka: No, I don’t watch anything about golf. Baseball, maybe football, basketball, any sport
except golf. Golf gets a bit boring.
KK: Do you have any guilty viewing pleasures?
Brooks Koepka: I watch a lot of reality TV… trash TV [laughs]. Anything on Bravo and E! That’s my guilty
pleasure.
KK: Who’s your best friend on Tour?
Brooks Koepka: Dustin Johnson. That’s easy. Workout together. Live about 20 to 25 minutes from each other. I see him almost every day when I’m home, whether it be in the gym, at his house hanging with him and Paulina. We hang out quite a bit.
Koepka, the current world No. 4 goes for his second major of the 2018 season tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. EST. He’s grouped with this year’s Masters
Champion and Open Champion Patrick Reed and Francesco Molinari.
